SHUTTERBUG PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW : Galloway Library Exhibit Online Registration

CALL FOR ARTISTS – “SHUTTERBUG PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW”

The Absecon Cultural Arts Alliance is pleased to announce “Shutterbug: A Photography Show,” a special one-month exhibition at the Galloway Library celebrating photography and the unique ways photographers capture the world around us.

For this exhibition, we invite photographers to share their vision through the lens. From landscapes and portraits to architecture, nature, street photography, still life, abstract imagery, and unexpected moments, the subject is entirely up to you.

There is no specific theme for Shutterbug. Photographers are encouraged to submit work that represents their individual style, perspective, and creative voice. Whether carefully composed or captured in a fleeting instant, we want to see the images that inspire you.

This exhibit is open to photography only. All work must be two-dimensional, wall-hangable, and presented in a finished format suitable for exhibition.

PLEASE NOTE: “Shutterbug” is a special ONE-MONTH exhibition rather than our usual two-month exhibit.

Artists should plan for artwork to remain on display from the November installation through the scheduled pickup on January 2, 2027.

Submissions are open to photographers of all experience levels, with an emphasis on originality, craftsmanship, composition, and creative vision.

Drop-off for the exhibit will take place at the Galloway Library on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Artwork pickup will take place on Saturday, January 2, 2027.

All artwork must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang. The library uses a cleat hanging system, so all pieces must include at least six inches of hanging wire.

Entry fees are $10 per piece, with a maximum of three pieces per artist.

Space is limited, so artists are asked to keep size and weight reasonable. Oversized or excessively heavy works may be declined at check-in at committee discretion due to space constraints. Every effort will be made to hang works on the main gallery wall, with overflow displayed in the meeting room immediately to the left of the entrance across from the restrooms.

Artwork will be judged by an independent juror, with results announced on social media. Awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, with monetary prizes dependent on participation.
